A Jewel In The Lotus Yoga took another YogAdventure, this time to the heart of New York’s Catskill Mountains for an unforgettable 4 day retreat! The event took place at the Menla Mountain Retreat Center which is world renowned for it’s tranquil setting and beauty. Menla also had the privilege of hosting His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2006. http://www.menla.org

Nestled in 320 acres of national forest preserve, it's was the perfect setting for 4 days filled with Meditation Workshops and Yoga Teachings including but not limited to Flow Yoga and Restorative Yoga.

Each morning began practicing Yoga Asana with Angela. We then gathered for breakfast. Menla’s gourmet chef specializes in a wide variety of organic, protein-balanced vegetarian and international cuisine served in two dining rooms and an outdoor dining deck with breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. After breakfast we would head out on one of the many adventures planned.

All Hatha Yoga classes were lead by Angela and the Jain & Yogic Meditations were lead by John. John has been practicing meditation for over 40 years and we were very excited to have him share some of his techniques with us.

In our free time we took part in some of the amenities the retreat center had to offer, such as an outdoor pool (unheated); sauna; two outdoor tennis courts; nature walks and hiking trails. Some group hikes were planned so we could explore this beautiful area.
